Koen (R) and Robert (L) hale from the Netherlands and are joining the team as volunteers for four months. They will be assisting the fiscal department in designing a fiscal tracking system for our patients, and in helping to integrate patient reporting, donor support and fiscal reporting throughout St. Joseph’s.

Our Newest Volunteer With Our Newest Patient
January 18, 2011We are pleased to welcome Nadja who left the cold, cold Jena, Germany to come to sunny Cape Town to volunteer for two months. Nadja will be spending time with the Sunflower children in the morning and with the Daisy girls in the afternoon. On the week-ends she is off to the beach! Thank you Nadja for giving back to those most in need.
Wir freuen uns, Nadja, die das kalte kalte Jena, Deutschland verlassen hat im sonnigen Kapstadt willkommen zu heissen, um in St. Joseph’s in den nächsten zwei Monaten Freiwilligenarbeit zu leisten. Nadja wird die Zeit mit den Sonnenblumen Kindern am Vormittag und mit den Daisy Mädchen am Nachmittag. Am Wochenende ist sie am Strand! Vielen Dank Nadja, fuer das was du den Kindern gibst, die es am meisten brauchen.

Sibylla to help St. Joseph’s in the United Kingdom
January 12, 2011Sibylla Tindale who lives in the United Kingdom stopped by for a visit during her vacation. Sibylla plans to lend a hand by sharing the good work taking place at St. Joseph’s Home with interested parties when she returns to the United Kingdom.

From Paris, France Our Newest Volunteer – Samia Faid
January 7, 2011We are pleased to welcome Samia who is joining us for two months. Samia is completing her Master’s degree in Human Resources, and she will be volunteering with our Human Resource Department. Samia says that everyone at St. Joseph’s is always singing a song, which tells her that we have a happy staff. Thank you Samia for lending a hand. 

Volunteer joins us during the Christmas Season
December 15, 2010We are happy to welcome Jamie, who joins us from Vancouver, Canada. Jamie, will miss Christmas with her family, as she is going to spend the Christmas season with the children of St. Joseph’s. In the picture Jamie hangs out with some of our older teen girls. A Warm Welcome to Mary
November 26, 2010We welcome Mary to St. Joseph’s. She joins us from the United States (Indiana). Mary is a privately consecrated missionary and will be volunteering her services by caring for the children to sick to attend school. Thank you Mary for giving our children your two most precious gifts, your time and love.

Nulaid’s Is Helping To Feed Our Little Patients

We are pleased to welcome Nulaid as our newest friend and supporter. With the food donation from Nulaid, the menu’s for our little patients will be healthier and more enjoyable. DO IT DAY AT ST. JOSEPH’S
November 23, 2010 Xoliswa (far left), Hessel, Mandy and Sabine (all volunteering for Old Mutual’s DO IT DAY “Give a Hand – Change a Life”) came together to help clean the medical ward windows. Mario, the Operations Manager noted that “we have a lot of work keeping five medical wards in top shape, and cleaning the windows is always on our “To Do” list, but the project gets pushed back due to more pressing needs.”

Sabine Joins St. Joseph’s as a Volunteer
November 23, 2010We welcome our newest German volunteer Sabine. Sabine completed her studies in communications and journalism. Sabine will be helping to enhance our communication with the media. In the afternoons Sabine also spends time with the children in the medical wards.
